Proposed Highway and Traffic Safety Bylaw - Public Consultation
A drafted Highway and Traffic Safety Bylaw was presented to the County of Forty Mile No. 8 Council on June 24th, 2026, who passed it through First Reading. The public now has an opportunity to review the draft and provide comments.
The proposed bylaw addresses issues relating to the regulation of traffic, the use of road allowances (including ditches), parking, speed limits, weight and dimension restrictions, off-highway vehicle access, damage to roads, signs, obstructions, permits, the responsibility of property owners, and associated offences and penalties.
The drafted bylaw and several schedules can be viewed through this link HERE. Submissions must be received at the County office no later than 11:59 pm on July 31, 2026 and clearly reference the draft Highway and Traffic Safety Bylaw.
