The Council and staff would like to congratulate the following employees for their hard work and contribution to the County over the years.

A drafted Highway and Traffic Safety Bylaw was presented to the County of Forty Mile No. 8 Council on June 24th, 2026, who passed it through First Reading. The public now has an opportunity to review the draft and provide comments. It can be found here. The proposed bylaw addresses issues relating to the regulation of traffic, the use of road allowances (including ditches), parking, speed limits, weight and dimension restrictions, off-highway vehicle access, damage to roads, signs, obstructions, permits, the responsibility of property owners, and associated offences and penalties. The drafted bylaw and several schedules can be viewed through this link HERE. Interested or concerned parties may provide comment by sending an email to [email protected] or by mail to County of Forty Mile No. 8, Box 160, Foremost, AB, Canada, T0K 0X0. Submissions must be received at the County office no later than 11:59 pm on July 31, 2026 and clearly reference the draft Highway and Traffic Safety Bylaw. Update: The work on this project for 2025 is now completed. Some work will continue on this project in 2026. Thank you for your patience. The County of Forty Mile No. 8 will be undergoing various road upgrades along Rge rd 121 South of Burdett in the month of August 2025. Much of this work will include hauling gravel, in conjunction with fresh oil, in locations from Twp Rd 94 to North of Twp Rd 100. Various patching operations will also take place from Hwy 3 to Twp rd 90. Please slow down and help keep our crews safe in work zones, expect delays, and use alternate routes if possible.
